We are seeking an enthusiastic engineer or scientist to join our team in creating the next generation of liquid-crystal wavelength-selective optical switching technology. The role combines complex design problems with challenging practical implementation, in an exciting entrepreneurial context.
The role would suit an adaptable engineer with experience in developing and conducting test procedures for free-space optical systems. Strong data analysis, quality management and programming skills are required. Experience with electronic or mechanical design would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of experienced engineers and physicists, and play a key role in the commercialisation of our world-leading optical switching technology.
- Technical undergraduate degree (engineering, physics, computing, maths, etc.).
- Optical test experience.
- Data management and analysis.
- Programming in control systems software (e.g. LabView).
- 3D CAD (e.g. Solidworks).
- Design and fabrication of simple electronics.
Location: St John’s Innovation Centre, Cambridge.
Position type: Full time, permanent role.
Salary: Dependent on experience. The company has a share option incentive scheme.
