Telecom Applications

To satisfy the burgeoning demand for capacity, telecomm carriers are introducing new network architecture, called Central Office Re-architected as a Datacentre (CORD). Commonly-used data is stored locally at network switching nodes (central offices). Bringing this content closer to the end users reduces capacity demand on the network as a whole. In turn this means that local network capacity must be increased, requiring innovative new ROADM architectures.
