ROADMap Systems is a VC funded startup developing Wavelength Selective Switch (WSS) technology for fibre optic communication networks. The company, spun out of Cambridge University Engineering Department, is designing a universal, flexible WSS module, combining superior performance and functionality with low cost. This WSS is based on Liquid Crystal on Silicon (LCoS) Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) technology. Our aim is to apply this technology and expertise to help telecom network and data centre providers meet the ever-growing demand for bandwidth, while simultaneously reducing their capex and opex. Building on our existing IP portfolio and proof-of-concept demonstrators, we are currently producing our next-generation prototype module.
